Most mobile bar companies start with a business plan. We started with a truck.

A 1964 Ford F-350, to be exact — sixty years of American steel, character, and potential sitting right in front of us. And the moment we saw it, the conversation shifted from should we do this to how fast can we get started.

But Simply Spiked didn't really begin with the truck. It began with two careers in hospitality, a shared frustration with the status quo, and a vision for something that didn't quite exist yet.

Two Careers, One Vision

Simply Spiked is the product of two hospitality lifers who finally decided to build something of their own.

I've spent more than a decade in high-end catering — planning menus, managing service teams, and learning what it takes to execute flawless events for hundreds of guests. My cofounder Abud comes from the other side of the bar. His background is in nightlife, bars, and experiential hospitality, where the energy is different, the pace is faster, and the guest experience is everything.

Between the two of us, we've seen hospitality from just about every angle. We know what makes a great event feel effortless (spoiler: it's never actually effortless). We know how to read a room, adapt on the fly, and make sure every guest feels taken care of. And after years of doing it for other people's brands, we were ready to channel all of that experience into something that was entirely ours.

The question was never if we'd start something together. It was what would it look like?

When the Truck Came Along, Everything Clicked

When the opportunity to buy the 1964 Ford F-350 came up in the fall of 2025, Abud and I didn't need much convincing. We'd been talking about launching a mobile bar service for a while, but it was always an abstract idea — something we'd get to eventually. The truck made it real.

We sat down and talked about what this could actually be. Not just a bar on wheels, but a fully realized experience built around this incredible piece of vintage Americana. How do you take a sixty-year-old truck and turn it into something that feels both timeless and completely modern? How do you create a bar experience that people remember long after the last drink is poured?

That conversation became the blueprint for Simply Spiked.

Built From the Frame Up

We didn't slap a coat of paint on the truck and call it a day. We stripped the entire thing down — every panel, every surface, every component — and rebuilt it with intention.

The bar was completely refinished to serve as a fully functional, professional-grade beverage station. We installed new draft lines capable of pouring everything from craft beer and wine to cocktails and non-alcoholic beverages. The truck itself was restored and refreshed, honoring its original character while making it event-ready. And then came the paint, the logos, and the finishing touches that turned a vintage Ford into the Simply Spiked tap truck.

Every decision we made during the build came back to the same question: does this serve the experience? If it didn't elevate what we were offering to our clients and their guests, it didn't make the cut.

More Than a Mobile Bar

Here's the thing about the mobile bar industry — and we say this with all due respect to the other companies out there — a lot of what's available is pretty standard. A folding table, some bottles, a bartender, and you're done. It gets the job done, but it doesn't create a moment.

That's never been what we're about.

Simply Spiked exists because we believe bar service should be an experience, not an afterthought. When our truck rolls up to your event, it's not just delivering drinks — it's creating a focal point, a gathering place, a conversation starter. Guests walk up, see a beautifully restored 1964 Ford with draft taps and a curated cocktail menu, and something shifts. It stops being "the bar" and starts being part of the story of the night.
